In Nioh 3, finding Yokai Teardrops is the secret to mastering the game's economy. These rare, glowing crystals are a specialized currency used exclusively for trading with Sudama Merchants.
If you want to acquire the best Ninja’s Texts, Samurai’s Texts, or high-tier Soul Cores without relying on RNG drops, farming Teardrops is your most efficient path.
While Yokai Teardrops don't have a single "fixed" spawn like a Shrine, they are tied to specific high-value activities in the open world. Because Teardrops are rare, you need to know exactly which activities yield them:
- Scampuss Chases: This is the most reliable method. Every time you complete a chase with a corpulent Scampuss, it will drop items—frequently including a Yokai Teardrop.
- Myth Completion: Solving some lore-heavy Myths found in each region often rewards you with a cache of Teardrops upon completion.
- Crucible Wraiths: Defeating these elite, red-aura enemies in the field or within the Crucible has a high chance of dropping Teardrops along with specialized Soul Cores.
- Lesser Crucibles: Purifying these localized zones of corruption usually yields Teardrops as part of the regional cleansing reward.
